Meet with seer

You approach the tent housing the seer. He is old and wise and has been by your side since you were a much younger king. He has never steered you wrong. Next to the seer stands your brother Menelaus.

“Dear seer, the winds do not blow and my men are angry. What must I do?”

“King Agamemnon, you have angered the goddess Artemis. In order to appease her, you must sacrifice your eldest daughter.”

Menelaus runs to you, “Brother, you must send for her now. We cannot delay any longer. Our men are tired and hungry and if we don’t do something, they may revolt.”

You are outraged. “I cannot! She is my daughter.”

“You must. Send her a letter. Tell her that she is to be married to Achilles and that she must come to Aulis. She will be happy.”

“This is cruel.”

“This will save all of Greece.”

The decision is up to you.
